How did you meet?

Fred: Susan used to work at a hotel where I was a regular customer. She played hard to get, like many girls do, before finally saying yes to being my girlfriend.

How long did you date?

We dated for four years before I decided to go down on one knee and propose. It was the most awaited moment, as it came with a lot of joy and promise.

How was the process of planning your wedding?

We were lucky to have supportive friends and family, which made the entire process easy and less daunting.

What are the advantages of using a committee in a wedding?

A wedding committee makes the workload lighter, you make better decisions, and also, the team assists in financing the wedding.

What challenges did you face during the planning?

We were directly and physically involved in all logistics to make the day successful. This meant many sleepless nights for us.

What were some of the surprises and disappointments on your big day?

A good turnout of guests came as a surprise. We were a little disappointed by the heavy rains on the material day. Fortunately, this turned out to be a blessing, as our guests enjoyed dancing in the rain at the reception.

How about the highlights?

The décor was magnificent and we loved the grill of chocolate and lime on our wedding cake. Also, the rain brought some blessings on our big day.

What was the inspiration behind the theme of your wedding?

We settled for royal blue and yolk yellow, which are Susan’s favourite colours. The groomsmen wore grey, white and green attire, as these are my favourite colours. The combination of all the colours was lovely.

Advice to couples planning a wedding?

Before your best foot, put God first. Let there be mutual understanding in your relationship. There are ups and downs, but what matters most is how you understand and communicate with each other. Finally, forge good relationships with people around you, as these are the same people who will assist you in your wedding.
