Two lucky Kenyans Gerald Oloo and Asaph Wanganga will smile all the way to the bank after being declared Lotto’s winners in the last regular draw in the month of October, each claiming Sh700,000 in the process.
The two will split the Sh1.4 million at stake after striking it rich with their respective winning tickets. Oloo’s ticket bore the numbers 40, 4, 32, 33, 45, 27 and bonus 0 while that of Wanganga bore the numbers 40, 31, 4, 32, 9, 45 and bonus 0.
Both players matched five out of six of the winning numbers against the draw’s winning numbers 9, 45, 4, 32, 27, 40 and bonus number 0. Oloo, a fishmonger who has been in the business for the past 15 years, has achieved a measure of success which, however, in the current economic climate has taken a downturn.
This was the circumstance that almost made him reconsider his previous career which was management, having been a successful manager at a firm in Thika followed by a stint at Muhoroni Sugar factory.
Married to two wives, Hellen Otieno and Evelyn Akinyi, Oloo is blessed with seven children and plans to spend the windfall by depositing it in a school fees savings account besides expanding his business and that of his wives.
Meanwhile, Jackline Nyanjama, a single mother based in Kiambu, has emerged the winner of October’s last Supa Sunday draw which came with a Sh500,000 reward. Nyanjama, who was a charcoal trader before venturing into farm labour, was on cloud nine after the win.
After a difficult spell, she abandoned charcoal trade due to unwarranted interference from the authorities and subsequently ventured into farm labour to feed her four children. With the winning, she plans to purchase her own farm before taking time to thoroughly weigh her future plans.
