The national Under-20 women’s football team has commenced preparations for the upcoming first round of their World Cup qualifying tie against Ghana scheduled for between November 3 and 5 in Accra, Ghana.
The team reported to camp last Saturday and has since held three training sessions on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Of the 30 players called up ahead of the tie, 17 have reported to camp, with the rest set to check in before the week ends.
Seven players who played a part in the second-round tie against Ethiopia in September will not make the Ghana trip as they are set to sit their end year KCSE exams. The seven are Sheryl Angachi, Cynthia Shilwatso, Maureen Khakasa, Cynthia Akinyi, Sharon Adhiambo, Mercy Airo and Vivian Nasaka.
