An accident survivor, who was sponsored by the Mediamax Company to undergo treatment in India, is back in the country.
David Ngugi, who was involved in a grisly road accident in August last year, had his Sh1.9 million bill catered for by Kameme FM through the Sunday morning programme Itaha ria muoyo hosted by Lucy Wa Ngunjiri.
His family celebrated the successful operation to correct Ngugi’s voice box and welcomed him back home last week.
His father Peter Muchoki said his son broke eight ribs, both legs and a hand fracture and was under a life support machine for two months as medics tried to save his life.
“We lack words to express our gratitude to Kameme and the entire Mediamax family for their kind gesture,” he said.
“We are looking forward to one day get the opportunity on radio to thank those who came to our rescue,” he added.
Happy for speech
Ngugi said he is happy to have recovered his voice and limbs after spending eight months in hospital. “I am so happy that finally I can be able to talk to my family and friends and when I fully recover I would like to get a chance to thank Mediamax Network for their noble gesture” he said.
