A section of Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) members from Bomet have dismissed as sham plans by party leader Isaac Ruto (pictured) to support Jubilee in the October 17 repeat presidential elections. Led by Alvin Koech, who unsuccessfully contested the Bomet governor seat, the leaders claimed Ruto did not consult them on the move.
“Jubilee Party does not subscribe to Nasa or CCM policies therefore it is foolhardy for Ruto to make hasty decisions to support Jubilee,” said Koech. He added that Ruto’s decision would not deter CCM members from voting for Nasa leader Raila Odinga.
“Ruto has been lured to support Jubilee and he has now forgotten what CCM has been championing for,” he said. “It beats logic that the former governor, who has been criticising Jubilee, to buy into their ideas,” said Koech.
