Mary Muchiru Ng’ethe is the newest millionaire in Kikuyu town within Kiambu county courtesy of Lotto. The 47-year-old won Sh1 million last weekend through her ticket winning number 734815659957.
The lucky woman, a mother of five, became Lotto’s 189th millionaire during the penultimate draw of the lottery firm this month. While Ng’ethe’s numbers 24, 30, 37, 23, 49, 45 and bonus number 3 did not match the draw’s winning numbers 46, 19, 22, 41, 15, 42, having the advantage of Lotto’s two methods of winning the draw’s top prize saw her raffle her way to an unexpected Sh1 million.
She was at home with her family when she got the winning notification call, sending her into wild celebrations. Having celebrated two decades of marriage with her husband Geoffrey Waitimu, Ng’ethe has been the epitome of multi-taxing, managing her home as a housewife, raising her children while engaging in her enterprises.
Currently engaged as a hardware saleswoman, Ng’ethe will continue working while she uses a portion of her winnings to send her youngest child to Form one next year, besides sending the second last born sitting the Kenya Certificate of Secondary School (KCSE) this year, to university.
She also plans to continue learning more about her current trade before launching any additional ventures. Meanwhile, Richard Kiprotich Kurgat also joined the list of millionaires through the Lotto raffle. Like Ng’ethe, Kurgat bagged Sh1 million, making him Lotto’s 23rd Supa Sunday millionaire.
