Jubilee Party Nairobi governor candidate Mike Sonko said yesterday that his first task, if elected, would be to reclaim the city’s lost glory. He listed seven priorities in his manifesto launched yesterday which he said will set the agenda for the country.
In a colourful ceremony held at Kenyatta International Convention Centre, Sonko said his government will prioritise among other areas, governance, housing and settlement, health, education, environment, traffic management and transport, jobs and social inclusion.
Sonko who was accompanied by his runningmate Polycap Igathe and all Jubilee candidates for different seats, said he will also priolitise reclaiming of grabbed properties by the current and previous regimes.
He said he will also be appealing to the Chief Justice to reign on magistrates who had a tendency of issuing eviction orders even before the conclusion and determination of cases.
“Working hand in hand with you, the residents of Nairobi, we will raise Nairobi out of the ashes,” Sonko told the cheerful supporters.
