Local giants Gor Mahia could have given a good account of themselves when they played English Premier League side Everton in a historical match in Dar es Salaam last week where they lost 2-1, but Muhoroni Youth will have nothing of that when they host the 15-time champions in a midweek league clash in Kisumu today.
Muhoroni’s coach Gilbert Selebwa has vowed to humble K’Ogalo when the two sides meet, despite the fact that they have always perceived to be Gor’s whipping boys since they have just beaten their opponents once in their history.
Muhoroni which is 15th on the log with 14 points will be oozing with confidence after seeing off their rivals Western Stima 2-1 in their last assignment a fortnight ago and owing to the fact that they have always posted positive results at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu.
“We have prepared adequately for this clash. I am sure Gor may underrate us after they played against Wayne Rooney and some world class players and even managed to score against them last week, but they are in for a rude shock,” said Selebwa who is also a former AFC Leopards coach.
Gor, who were knocked off the top of the table by Ulinzi after missing action at the weekend, will be in no mood to lose any points as they are well aware that a win today will steer them back to the top of the table as the league begins to take shape.
If they maintain the urge they had while playing against Everton, then Muhoroni may be in problems. Gor will, however, miss the services of first choice custodian Boniface Oluoch and skipper Musa Mohammed.
