Health Cabinet secretary Cleopa Mailu yesterday outlined achievements of the National government in Ukambani as he urged the community to re-elect President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August 8 poll to unlock the region’s potential.
He said the only way to reciprocate immense achievements of the Jubilee administration in the region is to support Uhuru’s re-election bid arguing ing that for the region to move forward, the community should shun tribal politics.
“The Jubilee government has improved your livelihood by investing in numerous life changing projects and economic empowerment of the vulnerable groups and given another term, all Kenyans will enjoy the national cake,” he told hundreds of beneficiaries of older persons cash transfer programme who turned up to enlist for the Inua Jamii Initiative at Ithookwe show grounds in Kitui county. He denied claims by some Opposition leaders that the government is using the programme to hoodwink the electorate ahead of the poll.
