The 91st edition of the Kenya National Music Festival entered its eighth day yesterday at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology in Kakamega county, with participants trying to outdo each other in the race for the coveted slot at the National Gala.
Bungoma county stood out in the African folk song category with Bungoma High School, Teremi Boys and Bukembe High clinching the top slots. Participants from Bungoma High School jigged their way to success with their folk song titled Nalulingo and emerged the best.
Bukembe and Teremi took second and third positions respectively. In the Secondary Schools special composition category with the theme; “Integrity in National Examination responsibility for all” sponsored by Kenya National Examination council, Samburu secondary school, from Coast Akiba school from Nairobi, Akiba High from Nyanza, Bulimbo Girls from Western squared with presentations that highlighted dangers of cheating in national examinations. They condemned the vice and discouraged students and teachers from being involved.
