Ziwani-based, Team Umeme shared spoils with visiting Zamalek FC after playing to a barren draw at Ziwani grounds at the weekend in one of the Super Eight Premier League matches.
Umeme who started the match as hot favourites on paper, failed to find the back of net despite dominating most of the action. Fans who had turned out in large numbers went home rather disappointed after the match they had eagerly anticipated to produce a glut of goals failed to live to its billing.
After the draw, Umeme found themselves lying at 11th position with 22 points while Zamalek dropped one position down on the 16-team log to settle for fourth place with 34 points where they tie with Jericho FC but with an inferior goal difference.
Elsewhere, at Kabete ACK grounds, hosts Kabete United held champions Kayole Asubuhi to a 1-1 all draw. Asubuhi netted their goal through Tobias Olum while the hosts leveled the scores through their marksman Mafuvi Williams.
Kabete are currently placed 10th in the log with 23 points while Asubuhi, who have started the second leg on rather slow pace, are fifth with 29 points, 16 below leaders Kawangware United.
At Nakeel grounds in Rongai, visitors Meltah Kabiria white-washed hosts Ole Rongai formerly Diguna FC 3-0 in a one-sided match. Meltah scored through Edward Njue, Vurugu Evans and Sammy Agesa to move to eighth position on 27 points.
