Boy band Sauti Sol is arguably Kenya’s top music export at the moment. After making former US President Barack Obama and his Kenyan counterpart Uhuru Kenyatta dance to their tune, celebrated US rapper Snoop Dogg is the latest public figure to give the band a thumps up.
The Peaches N Cream hit rapper shared a video snippet of Sauti Sol singing their hit jam Kuliko Jana alongside Redfourth Chorus, with the rapper captioning the video, “If we could all live in harmony.”
Speaking during a radio interview, Bien-Aime Baraza, the group’s lead singer, said that Snoop’s act caught them by surprise, as they had moved on from the project.
“It is a blessing and it shows how as an artiste you don’t think about the songs you have released, and you want to move on to your next project, but God blesses you on the previous work. I also thank our fans for supporting us to the levels that Snoop notices us,” he said.
