Omwenga, Shikhalo dropped from SPL All Stars team

Kariobangi Sharks defender Timothy Balton Omwenga (pictured) and Posta Rangers goalkeeper Faruk Shikhalo were yesterday dropped from the SportPesa Premier League All Stars team set to tour Spain for a series of friendly matches between July 16 and 24.

AllStars will take to the pitch for their first friendly against Córdoba next Wednesday before facing Atlético on Saturday (July 22).During their time in Spain, the team will also attend a two-day career-development seminar.

The trip is part of the deal between the Spanish top tier league La Liga and the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) Limited signed in May facilitated by leading bookmakers SportPesa. During the trip, LaLiga officials will offer capacity building exchanges with their KPL counterparts in areas of club management, marketing and club licensing.

During their first outing in February, All Stars came from 2-0 down to Hull City Select XI for seasoned midfielder, Humphrey Mieno to halve the deficit for the final 2-1 scoreline.
