Devolution Cabinet secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri has claimed that National Super Alliance (Nasa) presidential candidate Raila Odinga is being funded by some absentee landlords at the Coast.
He claimed the landlords who allegedly grabbed huge chunks of the lands from locals after independence have been in business with Raila for a long time.
The CS said the ODM leader should come clean and tell the Coast residents who funds him if not the land cartels. “When he comes here, he tells you that your land has been grabbed by so and so, but he does not tell you that the Sultans and Arabs who grabbed their land are the ones funding his campaigns,” he said.
He said the Opposition leader has been hoodwinking residents by opposing Jubilee government’s programme to issue title deeds. Speaking in Matuga, Kwale county, Kiunjuri said Raila should not question the credibility of titles if he cannot offer a solution.
“President Uhuru has issued more than two million title deeds but Raila says they are fake, he is lying to you. He thrives in criticising all good projects by Jubilee,” the CS said.
The CS was accompanied by Kwale County Women’s Representative Zainab Chidzuga and Kinango MP Samuel Ngozi Rai. Chidzuga asked residents to re -elect President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto to continue with their development agenda.
