Kenya’s SportPesa All Star team will savour the landmark opportunity of brushing shoulders with La Liga sides in their Spanish tour later this month.
According to Oliver Dodd, La Liga’s delegate who is attached to Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia, the Kenyan team is lined up for friendly matches in Andalucia, Southern Spain where they will first play CF Cordoba on July 19 before meeting Sevilla Atletico on July 22.
Dodd said the tour which is courtesy of the partnership between Kenyan Premier League and La Liga is geared towards helping the Kenyan players enjoy the developed structures and network in Spain to realize their full potential in the game.
“This is the start of the fruitful relations between KPL and La Liga. I’m glad to announce that La LIga has set up a deliberate policy to help in the development of the sport in Kenya and there is no better way than exposing the players to the vibrant Spanish league,” said Dodd.
The friendly matches will be beamed live through free to air television channels thus exposing the players further to potential suitors. Officials who will be in Kenya’s delegation will also benefit from the venture as they will attend seminars to gain knowledge on club management.
