Before there was 1824 Whiskey Bar along Lang’ata Road, there was Vineyard Wine Bar and Restaurant on Rhapta Road in Westlands.
These two clubs are similar in a way, but if you know of “Sunday school”, Vineyard is the place where it all began. It’s basically hanging out and drinking on a Sunday afternoon.
Maybe it could be because there is a church in the same compound as the club. Weird right? Two years ago, this club was so popular.
If you happened to be in Westlands, Vineyard was the place to be. But the hype seems to have died down. It was where the “ying yengs” would, and still go.
All you need in a club when you are a student is affordable prices, good music and a good crowd. The club gets full on Sundays, despite the presence of yet another club in the same compound; the second branch of Privee.
Drinks at Vineyard are pocket-friendly, with beers ranging from Sh200 to Sh300, while cocktails range from Sh500 to Sh750.
The music is also up to date, with an in-house deejay, and sometimes, a guest spinmaster occasionally serves entertainment.
