Engineer Joseph Nkadayo on Thursday took over chairmanship of the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) from Samuel Poghisio who has served in the docket for a period of two years.
“It gives me great pleasure to take the mantle of chairmanship of an organisation that has the pride of place and respect in aviation matters in the region. With support from a great team, Poghisio has overseen the growth of the authority in the last two years. I acknowledge his great leadership and contribution in the growth of this organisation,” said Nkadayo.
“On behalf of KCAA, I would like to thank Poghisio for serving the authority with utmost dedication and commitment. Under his leadership, the authority has made remarkable milestones,” said KCAA Director General Captain Gilbert Kibe.
The handover ceremony was held at the KCAA offices and witnessed by the Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia. .
“Poghisio leaves an impressive track record at the Authority. His leadeship lead to the award of Category One Status by the United States Federal Aviation Administration. I welcome Nkadayo to KCAA as we hope to benefit from his immense wisdom and experience,” Macharia.
A Civil Engineer by profession, Nkadayo has served as the Director General of the Kenya Urban Roads Authority. During his tenure, he saw the rapid expansion and rehabilitation of roads in cities and municipalities in Kenya. He also served as Secretary to the Board of Directors.
He has over 30 years experience in public and private sector in development, design, procurement, implementation, maintenance and management of projects; staff recruitment, placement, training, performance based- contracting and job evaluation.
