Mombasa JP supporters protest over revocation of Kassim win

Some Jubilee supporters in Mombasa yesterday protested outside Coast regional Jubilee Party offices in Nyali, demanding the candidature of their senator seat aspirant Abdusalaam Ali Kassim be reinstated unconditionally.

This follows the alleged cancellation of Kassim’s candidature in favour of Mombasa Deputy Governor Hazel Katana who has reportedly been handed the ticket in unclear circumstances.

They chanted slogans and waved twigs to signal their displeasure against Katana whom they described as an Opposition mole being used by pro-governor Hassan Joho brigade as emissary to plot a Jubilee downfall in Mombasa.

The supporters vowed to campaign against the Jubilee Party if Kassim “who was elected by the majority of Mombasa residents during the party primaries in April” is blocked from vying in the August 8 General Election.
