Meru Governor Peter Munya has urged politicians to desist from misusing courts and government agencies to fight their opponents.
Speaking during the launch of his manifesto on Saturday, he claimed there is a scheme by some political forces to intimidate others through the court and government agencies.
Addressing Party of National Unity (PNU) supporters at Mwariama and Nkubu Stadiums respectively, the immediate former Council of Governors (CoG) chairman claimed the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) are used to intimidate politicians.
“There is no need of using the courts and government agencies to fight others or parties which are not affiliated to Jubilee Party instead, let’s have free and peaceful campaigns and allow the electorate to elect their leaders without being influenced by anybody,” he added.
He wondered why names of some politicians were left out of the list of 106 politicians facing integrity questions handed over to IEBC recently.
Munya urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to tame his close allies whom he said are fighting parties which are supporting his re-election bid.
