Mombasa’s Olympic unbeaten record was cruelly shattered at home after going down a 1-3 to Makolanders from Nairobi in a top tier Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Women Premier League match played at KPA Mbaraki Sports Club.

Mombasa Olympic being the host took the lead in the 16th minute through Mwanahalima Adams in the 16th minute dominating almost the entire first 10 minutes of the play.

Makolanders however hauled themselves off the canvas and restored parity 10 minutes later through Oleka Vivian after a well play in the midfield before Dorcas Kisugu stretched lead for the host four minutes to break.

Olympic piled pressure in search for the equaliser in the second half but Dorcas Kisugu entered into the score sheet with a 74th minute clinical strike.

With the results Mombasa Olympic have nine points from four matches while Makolanders have seven points from five matches they have played.

Elsewhere, Spedag from Mombasa bounced back to register their second win in the FKF Women Premier League with a moral boosting of 3-0 win over visiting Starlets in the league match played over the weekend.

Speedag led by Harambee Starlets star Sharon Bushei shot the Coastal side into lead on the stroke of breather in what looked like a one-sided match.

Second half substitute Kenya international Essie Akida doubled the lead in the 64th and two minutes later Sharon Bushnei was on target to seal victory.

Meanwhile, Vihiga Queens beat Wadaida FC 4-1 as Vihiga Leeds edged out Palos Ladies 2-1.

Phoebe Oketch scored twice for Vihiga Queens with further goals from Maureen Ater and Enez Mudeizi completing the rout while Vihiga Leeds had Terry Engesha to thank as she scored a brace while Palos pulled one back through Catherine Nabiswa.
