Kenya Nights Live together with Motion Image and Sound have organised a grand bash at the Alchemist Bar in Westlands on Friday, June 16 from 7pm. Jika hitmakers Mi Casa from South Africa will be making a special appearance for an intimate showcase of their best tracks and singles from the new album that is currently riding high on their collabo with Kenya’s boy band Sauti Sol, Tulale Fofofo. Early bird tickets are going for Sh1,000, advance tickets for Sh1,500, while tickets at the gate will sell at Sh2,000. – Friday
Sauti Sol’s first Eastlands show
The Sawa Community Football Tournament will be held at Camp Toyoyo in Jericho, Nairobi on Saturday and Sunday, June 17-18 from 9am. The two-day free tournament will be a five-a-side event with a total of 20 teams of players, with every team constituting of at least two women.
After the tournament on Sunday, there will be an afterparty hosting Sauti Sol’s first concert in Eastlands at Buru Buru’s The Point Mall. Expected to perform too will be ZJ Heno, Muzikal Sheriff and MC Philipo. Gates open at 2pm till 10pm, and regular tickets go for Sh3,000 while VIP tickets cost Sh1,000. – Sunday
First colour run at Uhuru Gardens
The first ever colour run in Kenya will be held on Sunday, June 11 from 9am to 2pm at Uhuru Gardens on Lang’ata Road. The run, sponsored by Motorola and KFC among other sponsors, is aimed at promoting peace awareness.
Expected to be running through colour clouds, the unique run is open to participants of all abilities and ages being doused from head to toe with coloured powder while they sprint, jog or walk five kilometres on a marked course.
Tickets are Sh1,500 for adults, Sh1,000 for students with identification cards, Sh500 for children below 12 years and free entry for those below five years. – Sunday
Gilad Millo in free CBD street concert
Renowned Unajua hitmaker Gilad Millo together with Superband will host a free of charge live street performance on Saturday, June 10 at City Hall. The show will be on from 2pm till 9pm. – Saturday
Maa Festival night
The MaraLink Restaurant in Narok town will on Saturday, June 10 from 6pm to 6am host a charity concert organised by Maa Fleva Entertainment. Performances for the night will be by top Maa artistes from Maasai land, Samburu, Laikipia, Tanzania as well as traditional dancers. Entry is Sh300, while VIP tickets go for Sh1,000. – Saturday
Cake Festival returns
The annual cake festival is here again and this time it will be held at the Kenya Wildlife Service Headquarters in Lang’ata on Saturday, June 10. A sample of over 200 varieties of cakes and desserts from top bakers and chefs will be on offer. Tickets for the festival which runs from 10am to 4pm will be Sh800 for adults and Sh400 for children. – Saturday
