IEBC Procurement manager sacked over delays in sourcing ballot papers

A fresh cloud of uncertainity now hangs over the credibilty of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission after two top managers who are critical to preparations for the August 8th elections were send packing in quick succession.
The Director of Procurement  Lawy Aura was sacked for allegedly delaying the procurement of ballot papers barely two weeks after ICT Director James Muhati was sent on a 30-day compulsory leave.
The developments have now  cast doubt on the commission’s election preparations  with  only 62 days to go to the polls.
The commission has defended its decision saying it was meant to hasten the process of procuring ballot papers.
