Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) national league matches continue Saturday, the season having got underway on Thursday, with exciting matches in the offing at Nyayo National Stadium handball court Saturday and Sunday.
It will be an all-men’s show today as the fixtures had to be altered to accommodate Kenyatta University side who are absent until their semester resumes in July.
Three matches are scheduled with National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) taking on Boomerang while newbies Generation face Ulinzi Youth.
National Youth Service (NYS), fresh from registering their first win during Thursday’s opening matches will be up against Ulinzi’s senior men as the former chase their second win.
Defending women champions Nairobi Water will kick start their title defence campaign with a clash against students Mt. Kenya University (MKU), Thika campus Sunday.
MKU were in action on Thursday where they registered their first win after dominating the fixture against NYS and will be hoping to equal the challenger in Sunday’s fixture to register a second win.
Super Cup finalist NCPB women will be up against a seemingly inept NYS side that has been out of the league since 2015. The latter have already tasted defeat after losing 33-12 in their opener.
Multi Media University’s (MMU) men will be seeking to rise above their loss to NYS on Thursday when they face another university side Strathmore.
This season will feature four men’s and two women’s new teams, which include University of Nairobi (UoN), Nanyuki, Generation and Eldoret Pippers (men) and Divas and Embakasi (women). NYS and Kenyatta University are making a return.
