Kenyans should brace themselves for heavy rainfall as forecasters predict severe weather in the next seven days.
The meteorological department said rains are expected to continue over several parts of the country with highlands west of Rift Valley likely to be inundated between today and Friday.
Director of the weather department Gacheru Ongoma yesterday warned Kenyans “It is generally going to be quite humid with rains pounding and wreaking havoc until next Tuesday when we will experience fresher conditions.”
“Heavy rainfall has been recorded for the last one week, with many regions being battered by torrential downpours including Northeastern Kenya which had previously remained dry,” said the weatherman.
“Daytime temperatures have also increased over much of the country while night-time temperatures plummeting to single digit,” he added in the forecast sent to newsrooms.
