Schools abandoned for three years now turned into military camps

For the past three years residents of Boni forest Basuba ward in Lamu county have been going through a major educational  crisis after most of the teachers fled the area for fear of  attacks by the Al Shabbab terror group which is said have been launching attacks  on schools and villages, terrorizing innocent civilians.
The exodus is said to have started after the Mpeketoni attack  2014 that left more than 60 people dead,followed by similar attacks in adjacent areas of Lamu county.
To date most schools in the area  remain closed, adversely affecting the education sector
