Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) men’s premiere league weekend was occupied with mixed results as Kenya Police and Butali Warriors highlighted the weekend with respective wins in their matches played yesterday at the City Park Stadium.
Police were the first to pick three points to boost their tally on the standings courtesy of a 4-0 win over hapless Western Jaguars.
Amos Barkibir slotted in the opener goal for the Law enforcers in the 17th minute of the match to take the lead. Their lead was further boosted to two goals in the 33rd minute off Calvins Kanu’s stick to make it 2-0.
Amos would then complete his brace with the third goal of the match just four minutes later to sink Jaguars hopes of walking home with points out of that match with Vincent Odindo later in the 43rd minute, sealing the win for Police with his own goal to end it at 4-0.
Butali on the other hand received resistance from rivals Sikh Union but nevertheless overcame their relapses to nail Sikh 4-2 at the same venue.
Butali drew first blood in minute 21 off a penalty when Constance Wakhura whipped in a dare to stop penalty shot to take the lead, a lead which was advanced by Zack Aura to 2-0 six minutes later.
