ODM chairman John Mbadi will today face off with his arch rival Caroli Omondi in a repeat primary for Suba parliamentary seat.

ODM National Elections Board (NEB) yesterday said voting will be repeated in seven polling stations following a High Court ruling. The stations are; Oma, God Oloo, Koga, Mikuyu, Miriya, Kiembe and Nyakiya.

The party’s NEB chairperson Judith Pareno said the exercise will start at 6am and end at 5pm. Caroli, a former Raila Odinga aide, had protested Mbadi’s controversial win, claiming it was marred by irregularities.

Mbadi’s victory was first nullified by the ODM’s Appeal Tribunal but the elections board overruled the decision an awarded Mbadi with the nomination certificate forcing Caroli to move to the Political parties tribunal which gave the party 72 hours to repeat the exercise in seven polling centres. Yesterday, the High Court dismissed an appeal by Caroli that the exercise be conducted in the entire constituency.
