Tension is high at Ng’aratuko in Baringo North after armed bandits raided the area killing two people. The bandits also fled with more than 400 goats during the attack that came after a lull in the conflict.
Confirming the incident, Loruk sub-location chief Samuel Kamuren said the attack, which happened yesterday, saw two herders shot dead by the bandits as they herded goats.
“It is unfortunate that the bandits had to shoot peaceful herders and steal their livestock at a time when sanity is being restored following the operation by our officers, these criminals are so daring and they need to be taught a lesson,” said Kamuren.
The chief, however, said residents are now living in fear because there is no response so far from the security officers who had been deployed in the area.
