Abryans Style and Fashion Awards (ASFAS) 2016 was a glitzy affair on Friday at Serena Hotel in Uganda. Celebrities came out in splendor, embracing the red carpet theme ‘Dress to impress’.
The glamorous continental occasion was a full house with personalities from several African countries and beyond. On the awards list, Kenya was represented by Sylvia Njoki, Jamal Gaddafi, Bryan Babu, Lupita Nyon’go, among others who did not walk away empty-handed.
Njoki went home with the Best Fashion Blogger in Africa award. Nyong’o was named Crossing Borders With Fashion award winner, Abdy Askar won East Africa’s Male Fashionista of the Year and Bryan Babu took the region’s Stylist of the Year title.
Celebrity couple Annabel Anyango and Marek Furchs were named the Most Stylish Couple. Other 254 winners were Tracy Wanjiru, for Best Dressed Female Media Personality and Entertainer of Year, Zeddie Loky as Stylish African Male in diaspora and TV presenter Jamal Gaddafi was hailed as Best Dressed Male celebrity in East Africa.
Abryanz Style & Fashion Awards (ASFAS) was founded in Uganda in 2013 to celebrate style, fashion and art in Africa. It was created by the Abryanz Franchise, which also includes Abryanz Collection stores and Abryanz Charity Foundation.
This year’s show was hosted by former Big Brother Africa winner Idris Sultan, who was recognised as Africa’s Best Dressed Male media personality and entertainer of the year.
