NYS case suspects seek gag order on Waiguru

Nine accused persons in the Sh791 million NYS money laundering case now want the court to issue a gag order against former Devolution Cabinet secretary Anne Waiguru.

Through lawyer Maina Wachira who is representing Paul Kinuthia and John Hope Vandame in the matter, the accused claim that Waiguru has been to media houses making comments about the money laundering case which is still pending in court.

Josephine Kabura’s lawyer Franklin Owino supported the application, adding that some of the accused persons have also received calls and information that they will be summoned at Public Accounts Committee.

The accused want orders restraining Waiguru from making any further remarks on the case in any media house. Trial magistrate Martha Mutuku will rule on the application on September 29.
