Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Independent Disciplinary Appeals Committee (IDAC) has handed Posta Rangers a life line in the GOTV shield tournament by ruling that the club be reinstated in the competition.
The move by IDAC follows Posta Rangers appeal against being disqualified from the competition for fielding an in eligible player in their round of 64 match against TimSales FC.
And today, in a ruling sent to FKF CEO Robert Muthomi, IDAC has directed the CEO to find a less punitive punishment for Posta Rangers and ordered for the club’s reinstatement in the GOTV Shield tournament.
“I have received and acted on IDAC’s directive by reinstating Posta Rangers to the GOTV Shield tournament,” said FKF CEO Robert Muthomi.
“I have, also, in accordance with the IDAC ruling fined Posta Rangers Ksh 100,000 for their actions,” added Muthomi.
Posta Rangers will now play the GOTV Shield tournament round of 32 against Ushuru tomorrow Friday, September 16, 2016, at the Nyayo National stadium, with the winner of the match taking on Agro Chemical in the round of 16, next week, Wednesday.
