Politicians who support the new Jubilee Party in Nyamira county have formed a caucus to enable them to steer the ruling coalition’s agenda in the region.
People Daily learnt that the caucus was formed last week in Nairobi in a meeting chaired by East Africa Legislative Assembly member Joseph Kiangoi and attended by Education Cabinet secretary Fred Matiang’i.
Others in attendance included Nyamira County Assembly Speaker Joash Nyamoko and politicians Walter Nyambati, Dennis Abincha, Erneo Nyakiba and Charles Mochama.
The caucus elected officials to outline areas of co-operation with Jubilee ahead of next year’s General Election. Kiangoi was elected chairman and Nyamoko the secretary while lawyer Abincha will be the treasurer.
“We invited Matiang’i and some professionals to the meeting because our agenda was mainly founded on the need to find ways on how best to engage the government in promoting socio-economic development in our county ,” said Nyamoko.
“What brought us together as Nyamira leaders is the desire to unite the residents and fast-track development.”
