Kayole Asubuhi retained their position at the top of the Sportpesa Super Eight Premier League after beating minnows Baba Dogo United 3-1 in a nerve-wrecking match played at Baba Dogo grounds at the weekend. Baba Dogo netted the first goal through Reagan Ochieng who scored from a solo effort after collecting a loose ball from midfield.
Upon resumption, Kayole made matters even in the 57th minute through Brian Ochieng before Justin Ochieng doubled the advantage for the visitors in the 70th minute.
With only 10 minutes remaining, Tobias Olum scored the third for the visitors to help them stay top with 61 points with Baba Dogo remaining at 14th position on 23 points.
Elsewhere, relegation-threatened Shamako Babes continued with their misery after going down 7-1 in the hands of pre-match favourites and West Conference counterpart’s Metro Sports.
Five goals from Peter Ambetsa and two from James Mwati and Julius Andende ensured Metro collected maximum points to leap to sixth on the table while Shamako who scored their consolation through Jerome Onyango remained stagnant at the bottom of the 16 team-log on 12 points.
Meanwhile, Kawangware United drew 0-0 with MASA, Diguna FC beat Kabete United 2-1 as defending champions Technical University of Kenya (TUK) hammered Ajax FC 7-1.
