Kenyan ref nominated to officiate Sevens World Series matches

Kenya Cup referee Victor Oduor has been nominated by Rugby Africa for selection as a match official for the 2016/17 Sevens World Series.

Oduor, who did his officiating education at the Matties Referees Academy in South Africa, has officiated at the past two editions of World Rugby’s Junior World Trophy, and recently served as an Assistant Referee during July’s Rugby Africa Division 1A clash between Uganda and Namibia in Kampala.

Recently, Odour officiated the Africa Cup Under-19 match between Madagascar and Uganda last month and is currently undertaking a Level 3 course and could be the first Kenyan referee to handle the prestigious Sevens Series that Kenya has won one leg in the Singapore in April.

The 2016-17 season will kick-off on the weekend of December 2 in Dubai as the tour of 10 legs across five continents before concluding in London May 22, 2017.
