We need to milk maximum benefit from high profile visitations we are getting…

Despite a huge false start by the Jubilee administration on matters foreign relations, the regime seems to have come full circle, turning the country into one of the busiest destination by foreign dignitaries in Africa.

In a span of two years, we have hosted both the most powerful leader in the world in POTUS, the most recognised religious leader in the Pope and a host of other world leaders. For the past three days, a host of African Heads of State and government, including the Japanese premier Shinzo Abe, congregated in Nairobi for the Sixth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (Ticad VI).

Kenya is clearly growing in stature and influence but how do citizens stand to benefit from all this positive exposure? That will ultimately depend on our leaders and just like they are able to attract dignitaries to the country in droves, so should they make maximum use of the opportunities to benefit the nation.
