Finally, some proper white smoke billowed from the room housing the Select Committee on IEBC. With it, Kenyans —and might we add many other countries who suffer worse with each chaotic period in the country—heaved a sigh of relief. Now, we hope the next process may be without squabbles because all Kenyans want is an opportunity to vote for their preferred leader, and go back to hunt for daily bread. Instability generated by politicians for career progression hurts the poorest and when the leaders cannot do what they are expected to do —lead— it leaves a really bitter taste in most mouths. Congratulations to all those involved in breaking the stalemate and may the most fundamental part of the process progress with the least friction.
