Nakuru All Stars Football Club has secured a five-year sponsorship deal with SportPesa the largest betting company in Kenya. According to SportPesa CEO Ronald Karauri, the deal was necessitated due to the great impact the club has at the local level in nurturing talent.
Though he did not quantify the worth of the deal in monetary value, Karauri termed the sponsorship ‘special’, long-term and aim to help them bounce back to SportPesa Premier League.
Karauri was speaking in Nakuru after visiting Amazing Grace Children’s Home in Mbaruk organised by Nakurur All Stars. He was accompanied by FKF CEO Robert Muthomi.
“We have a long term sponsorship and all our deals the amount is not quantified. We will cater for merchandise, uniforms and other sectors that seem neglected in a team.” Karauri said. Club chairman Isaac Ones said the deal will go a long way in relieving their financial burden.
“The deal has come when we needed it most, we had a financial crunch but we are happy,” he said. He added that, the deal will help them nurture more local talents and also boost their morale to bounce back to the Kenya Premier League. He added that, the company was targeting community clubs because local people associate with hence the impact is felt on the ground.
