Residents of Mwatate in Taita Taveta have a reason to smile after Coast Water Services Board (CWSB) put up a 500,000 litre tank to enhance fresh water supply in the area.
Coast Water Service Board chairman Granton Samboja said the tank will supply fresh water to 6,000 house holds in Mwatate and its environs. Samboja, who officially commissioned the aluminum tank, said the facility will go a long way in addressing the area’s perennial water shortage.
“These are the projects that Coast Water Service Board want to undertake across the entire region. We want to ensure our people have uninterrupted water supply in all areas,” he said. Samboja asked county governments to cooperate with the board to help speed up sorting out water supply in all the counties.
“We ask leaders in all the counties to work closely with the board and to cooperate so that we can improve water supply to the residents. That the agenda of the government,” he added.
