One of the four wanted suspected al Shabaab operatives linked by the police to the ongoing knife and gun attacks in Mombasa has surrendered to the police.
Lukeman Khatib Mushee presented himself to the police on Tuesday just a week after Mombasa County Commissioner Nelson Marwa listed him among four dangerous terror suspects who have allegedly been terrorising residents of Mombasa and its outskirts.
Khatib is reported to have surrendered to the Anti-Terror police officers in Mombasa. Regional Directorate of Criminal Investigations Henry Ondieki confirmed the suspect’s surrender. Nassir Sogomo, Nurdin Khamis and Jamal Rashid are the other suspects whose names have been circulated to the public.
His father, Khatib Khamisi, who is also the chairman of Masjid Musa management committee said his son has been missing for two weeks and he was not aware whether he had surrendered to the police. He said the suspect has been living in Ukunda and Likoni.
