ODM to vet candidates before polls

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) will scrutinise those seeking party positions in the forthcoming election before they are cleared to contest, chairman John Mbadi has said.

He said the move is aimed at electing trusted officials who can run the party without divided loyalty. “Many have expressed interest in various posts in the upcoming party elections, but we will only clear you after separating chaff from the grains,” he said.

“We want ODM to become more vibrant ahead of 2017 General Election, therefore, we want trusted individuals,” he said, urging members to elect only loyalists.
